Remind me why I came to this place. Do not leave me absent all things that make sense. Allow me to grasp the tangible particles of my dearest distant memories. Bring me to the floods of all things holy. And let me sink in. Undeniably forever. A beer so missed and greatly adored, we got together with Edmunds Oast to devise this take on the Northwest Barleywine, in a more modern gown. This is a combination of more modern full-bodied strong ales, with the bountiful hop-driven barleywines that lured us to beer back in Seattle. This beer started as a 6-hour boiled barley base, before standing in a mash tun full of whole-cone Chinook and Citra hops. We then aged the beer in steel for a month, before blending with a small portion of Bourbon Barrel-Aged Barleywine and bottling to age in glass for both a young version and an old version. We always said that the best barleywine was made of hoppy imperial IPA aged for a year. So this is your take of youth, and in one year we will release the aged version, or you can do so yourself. As a young strong ale, this beast is a bevy of loads of flavors, teeming with honeycomb, dried orchard fruit, bergamot oil, candied grapefruit, pine resins, and vanilla caramel chews.
