
Death and the Miser Wine Barrel-Aged Red Sour Ale with Balaton and Black Cherries (ALTAR OF ACID No 1)

Each year we push a new boundary with our beloved cherry sour ale, and the aging of our wood cellar enabled a new level this year. This is the third year where we have embraced our newfound passion for nouveau style ales, in releasing the beer just a couple of months after fruiting. A blend of mostly 1-year-old red sour ales each aging in different red wine barrels makes up the base. After blending, the cuvee was re-fermented upon a mix of Michigan-grown Balaton and Montmorency cherries. This year's mix is a parfait of spiced cherry jam, cinnamon rolls, swirls of young Barbaresco and cherry handpie. |8.0%|1.076|10 IBU|
