The Fall seasonal installment of Ambient Terrain is an exploration into using new types of proteins in lagerbier. The result is one of our very favorite lagers to date, inspired by the workings of the great Miles Davis. Check out this video of our exploration with Jackie O’s Brewery and Haus Malts.
In many of ways, Miles Davis changed the world’s perception of what jazz music could be when he released In A Silent Way in 1969. Incorporating electronic and rock elements in jazz music was extremely controversial at the time. A year later Davis released Bitches Brew. These records became paramount in molding a new musical movement that became known worldwide as Jazz Fusion.
It’s this kind of intrepid spirit that inspires us to partner with like minded breweries and maltsters across the country and work together to experiment and push the boundaries of craft beer. Ambient Terrain is our concept album. It proudly states that American Lager can and should express American terroir and the passionate efforts of American farmers, maltster and brewers. Don’t just hear…listen Don’t just drink…contemplate.
