Sour Red Ale with Balaton and Black Cherries
A yearly reminder that anything less, is simply not to be. Each year we push a new boundary with our beloved cherry sour ale, and the aging of our wood cellar enabled a new level this year. A blend of 1, 2 and 3 year old red sour ales each aging in different red wine barrels makes up the base. After blending, the cuvee was re-fermented upon a mix of Michigan-grown Balaton and Queen Anne black sweet cherries. This year’s mix is an ode to doughy cherry pie, young Syrah, and herbs de provence tarts.
